I had my sleeve 4-24-12 and I have been doing well with not eating foods I'm not supposed to... Then the potato chip monster attacked and forced me to eat 10 chips. What's gonna happen? I kind of already don't feel too good... But I'm not sure if that is how my stomach feels or if my mind is just playing a mean game on me. Any ideas?

You'll be fine :) I ate a couple chips only 2 weeks out and I'm still lossing weight. You don't have to totally deprive yourself of "bad" food.. because your always going to want it. Just don't eat it on a regular basis, but give yourself some room to mess up. Your not perfect!! And, just think....before the surgery you probably would have eaten the whole bag, right? I know I would have...and now I can only eat like 10 at a time. I'm pretty happy with that :)

I have totally messed up. I am craving sweets so bad! I have a ton of head hunger going on. And I have been eating a little more than usual. Fearful of getting on the scale tomorrow morning. But will get back on track first thing in the AM. Oh, my hubby bought a bag of Pepperidge Farm Cookies and I ate them so he wouldn't. Also ate a stupid cupcake my kids left on the counter. So BADDDDDDDDDDDDDD! :(

If you haven't already gotten sick from eating the potato chips, then you probably won't. That is NOT license to eat all the chips you want. Are you back on soft solids yet according to your dietary plan? If not, NIX the chips until you're back on solids. Once you're on solids, it's okay to have a chip here and there, just don't let it become an every day or every week thing. The goal (for me) is to eventually eat like a normal person. I'll always have to do my Protein and Water, but I want to be able to incorporate things like a few bites of birthday cake or a small serving of potato chips into my diet. I am NOT on a diet; I'm working on lifestyle changes.

The only thing I've found so far that I flat cannot have in my house is cheetos. Baked cheetos are from the devil, IMO and they cannot come into my house because they sit in my pantry and call my name "Lissa, Lissa"! LOL

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
