On the pureed stage! I'm 2 weeks out (well, 2 weeks this coming Tuesday), I had a question as far as how much I am able to consume. I ate the famous "ricotta bake" yesterday and split it between 2 meals. (P.S. Insanely delicious). I had 3 oz. the first "meal" and then later in the evening had 4 oz. Does this sound normal? I almost feel like I can consume too much without any sort of pain. I guess I shouldn't be complaining that I don't have pain or nausea when I eat but it's almost like those are a forewarning to fullness. I'm having a hard time knowing when I'm full and don't want to accidentally overdo it. I am measuring everything but I know every stomach is different. Interested to see if others are able to consume 4 oz. 2 weeks out from surgery with no problems? :)

Ricotta bake is still, essentially, liquids, so you may be able to eat more of it than you expect. You will feel restriction once you start denser Proteins. Just keep doing what you're doing, measure out your portions and eat just the portion. If you do feel "full", it will probably be pain somewhere besides your stomach. Mine was in my left shoulder when I ate or drank too much. Now it's back in my stomach/sleeve. :)

Good luck!!

I ate about 8 ounces of pork and Beans in my second week, which was my mushies week -- well starting Day 11. I was really hungry then after being on liquids for so long. I do think that was too much for me. I think you can probably eat more of soft foods than later when you get to denser foods.

It doesn't seem like what you had was too much. As you progress to other foods, I think you will know when you have overdone it. Just one extra bite can be painful. You'll figure it out, I'm sure.

What was the recipe, would like to try something new. That's not yogurt, Soup, Beans or cheese

Thanks Lissa & Camarillo! I figured it would get a bit easier whenever I move on to the more dense Proteins. Appreciate the reassurance! :)

Hi, Marimar & D! The link to the recipe is http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html.

Just scroll down a bit and you'll see "Shelly's Ricotta Bake". It's a popular one around the forums. I used part-skim ricotta cheese instead, but do what you feel most comfortable with! How are you guys doing? I hope y'all are having a great weekend thus far!

My plan is to start doing it once a week. I had been doing it daily but I decided against it for the future because I don't wanna get stuck in any kind of "obsessive mode".

Yeah I know the feeling. I look at my scale and want to constantly look at the weight loss if any

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
