kellythestarr 39 Posted May 12, 2012 I have a 2 year old and today I put her in the car to get a sno cone. I'm not sure what I did but I have hurt my right lower abdomen so I was just warning mothers to be careful if you have just been sleeved!!!!
beautifulnewme2012 164 Posted May 12, 2012 Yup! I can't lift for 6 weeks or more...the doc says anything over 10 lbs can cause hernia at the surgery incision sites...be careful!!
cara342 10 Posted May 13, 2012 When were you sleeved? I am preop and have a one and two year old. Nervous about the no lifting... I had two csections and after two weeks I did pick up my daughter. Its almost impossible not to (carseats, etc...). I am gonna have to think about this issue and how to get them in and out of the car when I am by myself... MGM 140 Posted May 13, 2012 Since they are probably walking, can they crawl in themselves then you lean in a and buckle them?
kellythestarr 39 Posted May 13, 2012 Ideally yes that would work but not with my lil firecracker lol! I have a 2 door honda and I have to lift my right knee up to lean in the car to snap her in. That puts a lot of discomfort on my healing stomach. I will probably have my mother in law continue taker my daughter to day care this next week.
marimar 32 Posted May 13, 2012 It is hard! My kids 2 and 4 yo likes to watch TV e me at night but they always fall asleep it takes me like half an hour trying to wake them up so they can walk to their beds i feel so sorry for them but i talked to them about it and they seems to understand and also showed them my cuts so they know it is something going on w mommy so they are "concious" about it

bnorms 2 Posted May 13, 2012 It was hard not being able to pick up my 2.5yo for 6 weeks. Luckily, she was able to climb in and out of her carseat by herself and I would just strap her in. I put her highchair on the lowest setting, so she was able to climb in and out of that as well. Plus we are living with my parents right now, so they were able to help a lot with day to day stuff. Lol actually we had an earthquake that was centered right next to my city a few weeks ago....I picked her up and carried her down the stairs and out the door but it didn't hurt and i don't think I messed anything up. I remember laughing at her crazy behavior (such a fun age) shortly after I got home from the hospital and the laughing made my incisions hurt!
