rodswife 155 Posted May 12, 2012 As anyone measured themselves and see that they are losing inches but the scale keeps going up? I don't want to hear throw away the scale because that's just not going to happen. I just want to know if this is a reality to anyone else.
Misstxdiva 73 Posted May 12, 2012 The scale didn't move for a good 2-3 weeks for me and I FINALLY lost 3 pounds but myself and others around me have noticed I have lost inches. Doctor said he rather me weigh for example 290 and look like I weight 180 verses the other way around. So I try not to weigh myself unless it is at appointments or I'm at the gym. 1 rodswife reacted to this
coops 1,790 Posted May 12, 2012 Yep! I've been bouncing around the same 5lbs for over 6mths and lost a full dress size! The scales are only one way to measure success! The body is a weird and wonderful machine and operates on many levels... as along as I am getting smaller, I am starting to not care that much about the numbers on the pesky scale!! 2 Misstxdiva and rodswife reacted to this
rodswife 155 Posted May 13, 2012 Glad that I am not alone. This is such a slow process.
coops 1,790 Posted May 13, 2012 rodswife... slow but sure wins the race! When were you sleeved... I am 22mths out now, so I expect long periods of nothing... in saying that I am not gaining so all is well. When I was first sleeved I went through many stalls and this has been my pattern. Try to stay positive and you'll get there... let your body do what it needs to. 1 rodswife reacted to this
MyGastricSleeveLife 180 Posted May 13, 2012 My surgery is tomorrow, so I have no idea what will happen on this particular journey, but I know in the past with other programs I've done I've had the scale stay the same and lost inches, so I know it's possible. My husband is going to take my pictures & measurements today as my starting point & we plan to actually do pictures & measurements every Sunday from here on out to track everything. Every little quarter inch makes a difference! :-)
