Artsy 48 Posted May 12, 2012 Hello Sleevers, This morning I woke up with a bit of numbness / tingling on the side of my right calf. I began walking immediately and called my surgeon. He called immediately back saying since the pain is on the outside of the calf it is a compressed nerve. Generally patients get these from a particular position during surgery. From my description, he was not concerned about a blood clot but he added this could take a couple of days before relief is felt. Basically there is nothing that can be done. Other than that I feel fine.
vsglosingit 11 Posted May 12, 2012 Could be from a nerve being compressed in your low back...sometimes leg symptoms can be related to your low back *herniated disc/spinal stenosis, lumbar radiculopathy etc. If symptoms continue I would talk to your doctor. Just my opinion. I work in the medical field but am not a physician or even a nurse. Just experience from working for years in the medical field.
