kareyquilts 1 Posted December 25, 2006 "Pouch worthy" now that is funny! :heh: I have had a very stressful last few days. Good, but stressful. :girl_hug: Four of my adult children came home for the holidays and I have been cooking and doing and my doer is getting tired. I tried to make things simpler and my kids say that it just wouldn't seem like Christmas without this or that. I have been eating some sweets and today we had the big meal. I decided to eat whatever I wanted too. :faint: I enjoyed it, but I over ate and my pouch hurts. :cry I hope I didn't stretch it! I didn't make my goal by 3 pounds. I definetly want to set another goal. I vote for St. Patrick's Day. I would also like to log in exercise. I hope that everyone had a great Christmas. Let's keep up the chatter! Merry Christmas! MimIN 19 Posted December 26, 2006 Just back from Fargo, ND and thought for sure I would weigh in 10lbs heavier but actually down another 2lbs and have NO IDEA how - I ate the crap (but it was oh so good!!) I am in for another challenge! The last one has kept me moving and motivated and would love to keep it going.
r2ht4u 0 Posted December 26, 2006 Christmas Challenge ....last weight in 168 Hope all had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
TamifromAL 1 Posted December 26, 2006 Well, I learned something over the past couple of days. Not only does wine contain those "liquid calories" we're supposed to avoid, it also greatly reduces my ability to control my eating urges! Considering everything, I'm darn lucky to report a one pound loss for this past week. I still have a party on Wednesday, and another on Friday! If I don't gain this week it'll be a miracle! Can we please, please, please start our new challenge as of Jan. 1?? On the positive side, I'm halfway to goal! :clap2: Woo hoo, it's hard to believe! I cleaned out my closet for the second time since banding, and gave away two huge bags of too-big clothes. It felt great, knowing I'll never be that big again! BJean 16 Posted December 26, 2006 Who's willing to keep track of the numbers in this next challenge?
sandranoelle 0 Posted December 27, 2006 I made the challenge with one pound extra.. I really would like to join in the next challenge. Not sure how to keep track of weight.. But I'll try if no one else who is more computer savy want to. I vote for St. Patrick's day with an optional exercise challenge.. If we start on January 1, it is 11 weeks to the 17th of March.. If we lose 2 pounds a week it is 22 pounds. So I think 25 pounds is a good goal.. Do I have to count the 2 I gained in the last 2 days???
MimIN 19 Posted December 27, 2006 I spend 80% of my life on a computer unfortunatly so I guess I am kind of computer saavy;) I am more than willing to keep track for the next challange if there is no one else out there that has their heart set on it. St. Patty's day sounds good to me too, Easter is a little far off and Valentine's day is a little too close so St. Patty's would be a happy medium.
kareyquilts 1 Posted December 27, 2006 MimIn: Let's do it! I want to lose 35 pounds by St. Patty's day for personal reasons. (A trip with my husbands business associates). Maybe that's not reasonalbe now that you have figured out the number of weeks, but let's do it! I need the motivation! I'm planning on getting a personal trainer the first week of January so some kind of exercise challenge would be great too!
TamifromAL 1 Posted December 27, 2006 I think this is going to be a fun challenge, because many in the group are just now getting to a good fill level. I'll bet our percentage of weight loss will be even greater than for the last one (especially since we don't have to deal with holidays!). Sandranoelle, of course you count your recent gain! Haven't you watched the Biggest Loser? It's always good to start with a couple extra pounds that drop off quick! :biggrin1: (Tami--justifying potential gain this week!) gonnabethin 10 Posted December 27, 2006 Besides a halt in weight loss, How do you know you need a fill? I have always been able to eat an entire WW or Lean cuisine frozen meal, I do get stuck on meats occassionally and it usually ends with a pb in less than 5 minutes. Im terrified to get a fill- I fear putting my band at risk for slippage. Is that a misconception that with fills the band is at risk for slippage especially if you get stuck or pb? Suggestions are appreciated!!
BJean 16 Posted December 27, 2006 Gonnabe: I am supposed to get my 4th fill tomorrow! I am really worried that it's going to put me at that place where some people talk about not being able to eat anything or drink much. But I'm not losing as well as I should be and I'm hungry a lot. So I figure there's no way I've found my "sweet spot" yet. How will the exercise challenge work into it ya'll? I can't do much, but it won't hurt me to be more active than I am, that's for sure. TamifromAL 1 Posted December 27, 2006 Gonnabethin, here's a link to a site that can help you determine whether you need a fill or not: http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm It was written by Jessie Ahroni, who wrote a great book on lap-bands, called "Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding: Achieving Permanent Weight Loss with Minimally Invasive Surgery" (avail through Amazon, if you're interested). Personally, I prefer to be a little on the looser side, and be able to eat Breakfast and healthy, solid foods. Lisalee, I was just looking at an older message of yours about quitting smoking. I just want to sympathize! Been there, done that, but NOT while dieting at the same time! Good luck. BJean, I know you're limited on exercise because of your knees. Do you have any exercises that the doc or physical therapist want you to do? If you can't do aerobic exercise, maybe just work on "core" exercises (abs/back) from the floor, and upper body work with some light weights, sitting in a chair. Or even stretching or yoga. katt 0 Posted December 28, 2006 St. Patrick's Day is my B'day and I'm in. I did terribly for the Christmas challenge and I'm ready to go. I'm scheduling my 4th fill tomorrow. So far I can't tell anything is in there. Katt
