Happy mothers day to all the sleeve mommy's and even the daddies who have to fill both roles. I am a bit upset this year as my husband has decided that he will not join us for any mothers day things so I now need to visit my mom and HIS mom alone with the kiddos and hopefully get a lil break in there myself but I well right? So the real question now that I vented is this... Can I have a taste or 2 of Greek frozen yogurt as the yogo factory just opened in my town and my oldest wants to treat me to that(using my money of course) ?

As long as you aren't on the liquid diet phase I don't see why not. As a matter of fact I am just a bit over one month out and once a week I go to yoyo yogurt with my son and get 4 oz chocolate frozen yogurt. It is only 110 calories and in general I tend to be low on calories. I am learning how to live healthy with the occasional indulgence. If you don't allow yourself some of the stuff you want once in a while, it makes this just another "diet" not a lifestyle change. You are looking at the long term changes and frozen yogurt is a great alternative to a cheeseburger and fries or a pint of icecream. Keep up the good work!

same question, what stage are you in? If you are on liquids do not eat ice cream. You will have plenty of time for ice cream later on.

I think frozen yogurt is ok as long as you are on full liquids, as it melts down to liquid as soon as you consume it. Get a non fat version if possible and pass on the toppings.

My favorite yogurt place has sugar free yogurt. That's on my plans for mothers day!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
