I need help I am about 3 months post surgery and have lost 90 pounds to this point but I have a problem. I am cheating with the food I eat almost every day. I don't really understand why but it seems like I start with something small like crackers and then I just can't stop myself from eating more and more. I am limited by my sleeve on how much I can eat but I feel like I am lossing control and starting to go back to my bad habits like before my surgery. I am active walking at work and running two miles a day but this has to stop. Can anyone relate and if so how do I stop the self distructive eating?

If you have "danger" foods, then don't allow yourself to even have them in the house. I've realized that potato chips in nearly every form are one of my trigger foods . . . one of the few things I have to completely avoid. There are many other foods I am able to enjoy in moderation.

Keep high-Protein Snacks around like cheese sticks, deli meat, hard-boiled eggs, etc. I find that if I get a craving for something "bad" or high-carb, if I eat a high-protein snack it fills me up and keeps the cravings at bay. Another good snack, especially if you're still on purees/mushies (which you obviously aren't at this point post-surgery) is the hungry girl buffalo chicken dip. The recipe is in the recipes forum. You can eat it with sliced cucumbers instead of chips/crackers.

I agree with sleeve master if I start out with carbs I will want to eat all day! Best to keep them out of the house. I too an a little over 3mo. and find I'm having a problem with grazing so I cut everything in small pieces then if I grab something up it doesn't add up so fast.

Secure your environment, if those foods are not around it would be harder for you to eat them. Look for what is triggering you to want to eat them, are you bored, are you sad, are you stressed. I agree with everyone else keep good Protein Snacks in the house.
