Are you taking meds? I figured out the Vicodin was making me very dizzy and lightheaded!

I get dizzy once in awhile.... Seems like its mostly when I have walked a bit and ignored the fact that I was getting tired, or the times I haven't had enough Water or nutrients.

I was sleeved on 8/28/12. Started at 220, 211 the day of surgery. This morning I am at 200, I go back to work tomorrow (off for 2 weeks) and I am ready.

My surgeon's post-op requirement is 3 weeks of liquids that will go thru a fine strainer. I can't start mush or puréed till the 18th and I am finding it really difficult to get down any Protein with the exception of Chike iced coffee. I can almost gulp Water & get in 72 oz of it without difficulty.

Have to go pack lunch for tomorrow--THAT will be interesting!

Wow, a 20 pound weightloss for the month? That's fantastic. I was sleeved on the 28th too, but I only weigh on Tuesdays, since I was sleeved on a Tuesday. I'm excited to see how much I've lost in 2 weeks.

I am just checking to see if this is normal... I had my surgery on 8/28 so I'm two weeks post op and it seems like my main incision is more sore now and when I move certain ways it feels like tugging or something and gets sore. I lifted my son once a few days ago and think it may be related but I worry if it's inside or just normal healing....

On a side note I am totally not getting enough Protein. I tried another brand (muscle milk) and broke out in hives the next morning... So apparently am allergic. :( I forced myself to have some of my Unjury today but it was not easy to not throw up. Ugh!

I was sleeved 8-30, I drink Protein from GNC its expensive but its real good.. I am at 79 grams per day.I hope u feel Better

Which brand is it? Flavor? I have heard of a few that they sell that taste the best but are really pricey... Wondering if it's worth a try.

I drink the alpine punch of Isopure and it's 40 grams a bottle. Tastes like koolaid. I haven't tried any other favors yet but there are some coupons for GNC so you might try that too. It's like 6 per bottle.

I was sleeved on the 28th also and I still feel a lit of tugging on that left incision. Especially when I am very full or when I have picked up something I shouldn't have. It does get better though. Hope that helps.

Totally normal. I asked my surgeon about it on my two week follow up and he said that there were stitches placed in the abdominal muscle. When you start moving around more, you're naturally going to tug at those stitches. He said they dissolve in about 4-6 weeks and the pain should go away at that time. I was sleeved 8/20 and mine still hurt like a mammer jammer. Plus yesterday, I lifted a couple of heavy boxes and I feel like I was sucker punched in the ribs. Be careful!

Thank you guys for the replies! I am going to try harder to not lift anything for awhile and I definitely will try some of the fancier energy drinks from GNC. Today I still didn't have anything else to try so I did my Unjury again and I actually kept swallowing for about an hour to prevent myself from throwing up. :( even if the other stuff is costly, I need a better option! So, thank you.

Yes, that pain is normal. However, it is extremely important to be cognisant of what you are doing and how much you are lifting. While you are healing, you can inujure yourself if you do not follow doctors orders and only lift what you should. Take it easy :)

As for the protein, you need to go buy samples of several different products and find one that works for you. Personally, I cannot stomach the Isopure.< em> I tried many flavors. I found I liked the Atkins premade, but I also discovered Premiere Protein Shakes. they are at sam's club and have 30 g of protein per shake.< /p>

I bought powdered protein from GNC and it makes me instantly run to the bathroom. It was almost $20 a bag, so that's why I encourage you to buy single servings before committing to a kind/brand!

Good luck, protein is vital to your success so I hope you find something that works!

I had my sleeve on Aug 28 also. And I can definitely relate to the issues with getting enough Protein and tolerating it. I am finding the Premier brand is giving me less side effects. The idea of trying samples is great advice too.

The pulling is common due to stitches. I had that for a while but seems to be resolved now. Do be careful about lifting. I'm restricted to 10 lbs or less. You really do want to stick to your docs requirements - don't want to end up with hernia repair later! Best to you and good luck going back to work!

I was sleeved on the 8th of August and am doing better since I stopped taking my calcium citrate. I have to find something easier on my stomach. Taking 2 capsules three times a day was not easy. They made me feel nauseous.

If you are getting dizzy or weak it could be because your blood sugars are really low. You may need a serving of carbs if they are allowed by your Dr.

We invested in a Fitbit Aria WiFi Smart scale right before the surgery.. It sends my weight and my body fat percentage to my Fitbit account. I now have my 45 lb weight loss badge!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
