I had some time to kill today between doctors' appointments so I decided to treat myself to some Starbucks coffee. I'm seven weeks out and haven't had coffee since surgery. Now pre-op I LOVED Starbucks. Today though I literally could not stomach it. I think I drank about 1/2 of a tall and that was over the period of about 90 minutes. My stomach just did not like it. Anybody else have issues with coffee post-op? I'm hoping this will pass as I love my coffee.

I'm ok with coffee in general, BUT post-op I do better with Decaf. Also, I used to like my coffee strong with very little Creamer but now I have to cream the bejeezus out of it! Fortunately Kroger brand fat free, sugar free vanilla creamer works well.

Yes, post op I have switched from my double espresso straight to a tall soy latte. And at first, coffee, even Decaf did not sit well. But by 7 weeks I could enjoy a decaf soy latte. I didn't go back to caffeine till I was three months out.

I'm one of those people that loved the coffee experience but didn't "require" coffee to be human. I gave it up the day I got approved for the surgery with no withdrawal issues. But I missed drinking it. I had my first taste of coffee about 4 weeks post op. My husband made it the same way I'd always drunk it, with a tsp of regular creamer and a dash of vanilla creamer. I couldn't stand it - it was soo very sweet. I didn't try it again until last week I got a small from Mc Donalds and where I would normally have put about 5 Creamers in it (there's is quite strong), I asked for 2 creamers and it tasted pretty good. That is the last time, so far. The moral of my story is my coffee experience has definitely changed for me.

I'm quite thankful that I LOVE my coffee even post-op. I was a chocolate addict but post-op I cant stomach chocolates. Now, I dont miss chocolate much, but I cant imagine a life without coffee!! :)

I am 4 weeks post surgery and can't drink coffee yet. I loved coffee prior to surgery, but post; not so much. It lays very heavy in my stomach and feels weird; kind of oily and bitter. I'm going to wait a few more weeks then try again.

Can it be regular coffee not Decaf? I say if I can't drink regular why drink it at all

I drink regular coffee only. Twice a day. Less than 100ml each time.

Never was a coffee drinker, but I enjoyed the smell. Now the smell really bothers me. I actually gagged on the once wonderful smell of a roasterie not far from where I work two weeks ago.

I used to love tea. Now all I want is ice Water. Even in lieu of foods, and I'm not dehydrated. I actually crave Water. I guess I shouldn't complain, but sheesh...

I don't know how ANYone stomachs Starbucks! Hahaha... I looooove coffee and am currently enjoying a cup or two a day. At first I would have a few sips then half a cup now just normal. Be sure to keep up on reflux meds if prescribed!

I have to drink my coffee or I will kill my 4 wild children who begin every morning arguing & spazzing out!! I drink a large iced coffee from dunkin donuts every single morning...with cream, sweet & low & sf hazelnut. It is hands down my favorite thing I put in my mouth all day! My Dr is ok w/ it & so is my sleeve. Maybe it will never agree w/ you or maybe you just need a wee bit more time. Tmi alert - best side effect- keeps me totally regular ;)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
