Strange Throat Stomach Feeling

Recommended Posts

Hello

So I am on three Protein Shakes a day. I've been struggling to get my Protein shakes in so I had 3/4 of a hard boiled egg yesterday. In addition my husban had pizza.... I took a bite and chewed it and spit it out (just to get the taste). I think I swallowed a few small pieces by accident. Well then I had my Protein Shake at night with About a tablespoon of unsweetened applesauce (to get rid of shake taste in mouth). I felt very very full and was uncomfortable.

This morning I woke up and had a bowel movement. But I still feel uncomfortable. It's like an extremely full feeling in my stomach and throat. Do you think the tiny tiny pieces of pizza did that? What do you think it is? I had my surgery on 4-24-12.

I feel so full like I just ate a whole cow! But all I've had this morning is half a bottle of water...

Interesting...I would be curious to know the answer to this one also.

The spices in the pizza could have irritated your esophagus and stomach. Best to stay completely away from that until you are cleared to eat it.

I did it this weekend with chicken. I was miserable! Live and learn.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
