forever29 6 Posted May 8, 2012 I am so frustrated! I am not loosing weight during my pre op diet!! I have lost 13 pounds prior to starting this phase. What was funny was my dietician told me initially (1 month ago) I hadn't been eating enough (quality not empty calories) so I began to eat more (good for you foods not junk) and the weight began dropping. Now I haven't lost a pound in 8 days. I have gained!! I am strictly following my doctors orders . 2 shakes a day, 2-3 special snack bars, 4 oz lean meat & 2 cups steamed veggies. cookies 56 Posted May 8, 2012 Remember that the pre-op diet's purpose is to shrink your liver, so although you may not be losing pounds, hopefully your liver is shrinking down, and that's the important part.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted May 8, 2012 This is probably a plateau. Like Cookies said, you are shrinking your liver. You are also helping your body get healthier.
Shilo30 16 Posted May 8, 2012 I agree with the above statements!! The liver is the important part so just keep at it. If you are doing what you are told then it WILL happen!!!!!!! I went a few days wtih nothing too but eventually it kicked in and I am down 20 pounds now!
ilikenu 18 Posted May 8, 2012 I also lost little Pre-op, but I was already no white sugar or flour for months before, so my liver just wasn't fatty! That sucks pounds-wise, but not recovery-wise.
dackn8tr 3 Posted May 8, 2012 Sounds like my pre-op diet is the same as yours and i've stopped loosing too. First 2 days i lost a total of 6lbs but now nothing for a week. Makes me nervous that my liver's not shrinking like it should but we both have to keep following the guidelines to a "T" and trust that out innards are cooperating!! Good luck!!
