Weight Gain After Exercising

For the last few weeks I have been working 5 days a week including working out with a personal trainer. Since I have stepped up with my exercising I have been gaining weight instead of losing. I have gained 3 pounds and I'm feeling discouraged! Did anyone else have this problem after stepping up and working out more? Do I need more calories ?

Have you checked to see if you are losing inches. Remember muscle weighs more than fat. So if you are building muscle you may gain weight. How do your clothes feel and fit. That is always a good judge.

I have been trying to walk everyday so I do not lose muscle.

I agree with Jafter, keep up the exercise and you will eventually keep losing. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat, continue to monitor your weight and try to weigh yourself like once a week. I found that my wt fluctuates if I weigh myself daily or twice a day.
