Bariactric Humor (At Least I Thought It Was Funny).

Recommended Posts

I have several Bariactric family members and soon to be one myself. I was in church yesterday when I thought of this.

While taking communion at church, I realized that bariactric patients are the only people that can take communion and get full. LOL. I could be the only person who thinks its funny, but I had a big smile on my face during that part of the service and everybody else was looking all serious.

I don't go to church & have never had communion, but I know that back in the Atkins days people used to freak out about the carbs in the little wafer thing and/or the wine. They went so far as to measure everything out and drill it down to the nearest half carb. So don't forget you have to factor them into your weekly carb counts, I guess.

(If it doesn't fill you up, just head over to the Sam's Club buffet after church, where I can be annoyed b/c you're blocking the aisle.) :)

Both of those are funny. LOL If you are still early in your sleeve, you could get full on one sample!! LOL I'll have to remember that next time I am there once I can have "real" food again. I am still on pureed foods. Thanks for the laughs. I needed that!

We did communion at Easter, and I remember prior to receiving it that I was hungry and couldn't wait to get home to eat. After I had communion, I wasn't hungry anymore, but I never thought of it in the way you did. That is funny!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
