Well, I drove before I was supposed to. I got bored a week out and drove to the store a couple times just to get out of the house!

Doctors and nurses told me 7-10 days was best, and longer if I could do it. The first few days the CO2 and anesthesia are getting out of your system, as well as any pain meds from the hospital or at home. Then it's more about your abdomen since you actually use some of those muscles to control your legs. You may have delayed reaction times or just end up hurting yourself if you have to brake hard or drive stick.

Day 8 was my first follow up appointment. I could drive after that.

I was allowed to drive once I was no longer on pain meds. I had surgery on a Tuesday and drove on Saturday with my mom as a passenger. On Sunday I went to a bridal shower on my own. Just follow what your surgeon tells you.

I could start when I was off pain meds. Which was pretty much the next day. I actually started when I could comfortably turn to check the lanes around me. B/c of the painful incision on the left side I think it was just under 2 weeks. I just answered this exact question in another thread so I know a search will yield some results.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
