victoryinJesus53 21 Posted May 7, 2012 Hi, I had the sleeve done on 4/24/2012 and I returned home on 4/27/12. Out of all my research prior to surgery nothing prepared me for the Constipation after. I soon learned by the end of week (last week) to leave my prescribed pain medication alone and use extra extra strength Tylenol if needed for pain. Next i leraned to to follow my physician's direction to get up and walk. Folks the key is keep moving along with taking your fluids daily to aid in alleviating the constipation problem. Also, I now take Metamucil to help add Fiber to my diet daily.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted May 7, 2012 After the surgery, I didn't have a BM for about 2 weeks. I didn't need to have a BM because I wasn't consuming any solid foods. I used very little pain medication once out of the hospital but was worried and for a couple of days I took some Miralax. Not much happened and I just realized that my consumption of food was low. katieb 80 Posted May 7, 2012 My sugary was April 25. Are you still in pain? I move around great, but have to walk very slow and it hurts my stomach when I try to walk normal. I am still taking pain meds regularly cause if I don't. Im in pain. When are you going back to work full time? I went into my office for a few hours a couple times last week,& I was so sore I had to leave. Sitting straight up in a desk chair was just too much. Do you think I am babying myself too much? Sandpiper 6 Posted May 7, 2012 KATIEB - you are not babying yourself. This is considered a major surgery, not minor. Please take it easy. The downside of this surgery is if you don't take care of yourself you can really be in big trouble, to include a trip back to the hospital. Remember, work is temporary, life is permanent. 1 katieb reacted to this
