Two weeks to the day since my surgery and I just inhaled 6 oz of yogurt without batting an eye and if I had another cup I'd probably eat that too. How is that possible? I was told by my nutritionist that I wouldn't be able to eat that much in one sitting. I really hope I don't have an issue. I know who my first call is when I get to work this morning!!!

Yogurt is technically a liquid, so it will go through your sleeve much faster than dense Protein.< /p>

Agree with Lissa. It also depends on the viscosity of the yogurt. Just a few days post-op I could eat most of the yogurt in a McD's parfait (I tossed the fruit/granola) - actually I probably couldn't eaten all of it wityhout a problem but I made myself stop because it seemed like more volume that I expected - but I could eat not quite 2 tbl of plain Greek yogurt. Some yogurts are not much denser than a sauce.

6 oz of yogurt was right at my limit following surgery. If I'd eaten another spoonful I would have felt the discomfort. The swelling has since gone down and I can take in more than 6 oz, but for quite a while this was a great nutritional choice for a sweet tooth.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
