Esophogeal Manometry Results!

Recommended Posts

I took the last of my pre-op tests this week. Just got the results of the manometry. I was told I have a slight dismotility and a slight weakening of the lower schincter. The dr. said this should not interfere with my having the surgery, but I am worried that the surgeon won't do it now! Any ideas/thoughts????:help: I really need/want to have this done!

Here's what I DO know: You don't want advanced esophageal dysmotility.

If your surgeon decides the degree of dysmotility you DO have is enough that he thinks the band is a bad idea...listen to him. If the condition is advanced enough that getting the band will make it worse, the band won't help you lose weight anyway. That's because the only things you WILL be able to eat are things that will slide right through the band...and make you GAIN weight.

So, trust your surgeon...if he says it's worthwhile to give it a try...GO FOR IT. If he says it's too risky for you, work on Plan B!!

Good luck!!

I can't even believe I have this problem. I never had any symptoms, except for maybe a Vitamin hurting once and a while while going down. I don't understand. I'm so upset. I know if my surgeon says no, then it just wasn't meant to be, but this really sucks!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
