Hi Deano. My drs pack says that light headedness is normal for a little while (it also says 3 or more times a day should get checked out).

Thanks Ozee - I think I'll have to try harder to remember not to jump up / out of bed like I do, doesn't help!

Question for all of you in OZ ... I used to by these little cans of food from Coles they were blue and would have salmon with a lil bit of veg and wild rice.. Do any of you know what I am talking about and what they are called? I am looking to see if I can find them here in the US along with your yummy green seas flavored tunas I think it was something that started with a B that sounded French but idk for sure. I would appreciate any help you can give me...

Ps. I just may be moving back to The Alice in 2013:)

I will look out for the tuna next time I am in Coles and let you know.

Guys - I'm about 17 days post op and things seem to be going really well.

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes I feel a little light headed (I wouldn't go as far to say dizzy) if I stand up quickly.

Do you think it's a blood pressure thing' date=' or is it normal with the very low calorie intake?

My blood pressure has always been perfect and I've never felt light headed pre surgery.

Hope your all having a good weekend, I'm working <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

I got these symptoms too but thought it was because I had lost so much weight I could get up out of my chair/bed much faster so that was what was causing it! Silly me! My symptoms seem to have subsided now!

Ok the verdict - i have to go for an endoscopy in 2 weeks because i suffer from heartburn. He wants to check that there is nothing sinister going on before the surgery' date=' i was disappointed but when i thought about it i'm glad he is being careful. So at the moment we are still looking mid to late Feb next year pending the endoscopy is good.

Thanks for all your thoughts you are all so lovely![/quote']

I think it is great that they are being thorough. All the best for your endoscopy and that you get the big green light for your op!

Lila, love your new profile pic - you really do look awesome. Have a great night tonight.

Aussiegirl - I had my gallbladder out about 15 years ago after I was just a out dying as I was that sick from it. What meant to be keyhole surgery turned out to be a 9 hr operation as apparently such a mess in there and had to open me up but anyway all done now. Get better soon

Kelli - glad you had a great night last night at the tourism awards.

I was planning going out for a birthday party and had something planned to wear but thought I would try on this afternoon but was too big and looked disgusting so unfortunately let my husband go and I stayed home as really only have a few work clothes to get me through. My old faithful jeans can even do it anymore - really going to have to get some clothes before all the Xmas parties start :)

Had a great night out - got so busy catching up with people that I managed to miss the food altogether. Upside was that I wasn't sick from eating too much/ something my tummy decided it didn't like. Bad news is that I've gone too long without eating and now I am trying to have something at 10:30 :( Might try eating before I go to these things next time :)

Jeans west has 40% off everything for members at the moment, including clearance stock. It costs nothing to become a member and I got a dress that was reduced from $99 for $18. Bargain.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
