mistysj 1,940 Posted August 17, 2013 I just finished week 4 day 3 of couch to 5k, outdoors! I just couldn't make it to the gym three days this week due to the Ekka and other scheduling conflicts, so had to do my third day on a Saturday. I am pleased I could do if. I love my sleeve. I wouldn't have been able to run 5 minutes straight, two times in a row, if I was still 17 kg heavier! 3 Lissa_S, *Dean* and *Shell* reacted to this

mistysj 1,940 Posted August 18, 2013 Welcome to the thread, Lissa! I love the couch to 5k and this time around, I am loving the app! It sure beats having to time yourself like I did 10 years ago when I first did it. Um, I thought I was sending this to the Couch to 5k thread. LOL. Of course you don't need a welcome to this thread, Lissa! I feel silly now! 1 *Dean* reacted to this
nikkibingham1988 4 Posted August 18, 2013 Hi everyone I have my sleeve date!! Yay!!!! November 11th woohoo!!! So I've started compiling a list of things I'm going to need to get me through I've been online shopping this evening and bought myself new kitchen scales, new bathroom scales, measuring cups, and a few books. I placed an order on band buddies and purchased a set of those cute little Portion Control plate and bowl and some chewable Multi Vitamins which my surgeon suggested I get I'm so excited to start this journey! So what products/items helped your throughout your journey? 2 tashk and one_elle26 reacted to this

If you are a reader, there are some great oops about the physical and emotional aspects of the surgery and they can suggest some things you might need, things to expect etc. one piece of advice is don't stock up on lots of Protein drinks or other stuff for after the surgery. Just get small samples of things, because things often taste differently or go down differently after surgery. Also you don't want to be stuck with heaps of something you won't need after the first two weeks. You won't need much for the hospital but some loose comfy clothes and your toiletries. Get a good shaker bottle for Protein shakes and some chicken or beef bouillon for the liquid phase. Trust me you will want something not sweet! But again you have loads of time so pace yourself and keep reading the forums.

Aussiegirl 580 Posted August 18, 2013 Great news Nikki!!! Sounds like you will be well prepared. Thank you all for the well wishes, 4 more days and then I will be under the knife again...I will keep you all up to date with the recovery. I posted on Facebook that I was doing this and one of my friends said the sweetest thing and also the most true and I wanted to share with you all: "Well Beautiful, there is nothing to fear. You aren't transforming anything but the most superficial part of you and you're only doing that because you want it to better match the real you that has and always will be, borderline perfect." I am hoping at the end of this I finally see in the mirror what I know on the inside. 6 kelliv, one_elle26, lessismore67 and 3 others reacted to this

Aussiegirl 580 Posted August 18, 2013 What a wonderful friend - sounds like a keeper to me! Definitely a keeper The saddest thing is that he bats for the other team but is the closest thing I have found to a "soul mate" 3 Lissa_S, one_elle26 and Bec101 reacted to this
