Ok guys tomorrow I start soft foods' date=' AND tomorrow is Tuesday, meaning I have to pack every meal but Breakfast since I won't be home until 11 pm. So here is my plan:

Breakfast: pumpkin ricotta purée at home

Morning snack: fruit cup, 1/2 cup milk in my coffee

Lunch: canned chicken (Caesar flavor)

Afternoon snack: 50g shaved leg. Ham, 1 string cheese, 1 tsp mustard

Evening: 40g hummus, 3 cruskits, 1 string cheese

I will also pack one optislim in case something doesn't agree with me. I'm nervous![/quote']

Good luck mitsysj! As long as your prepared I'm sure you'll do fine. But cudos on thinking to bring the extra optislim. Great idea! I did the same and now I have about 5 or 6 shakes sitting in my draw at work just in case! Or just for a Protein hit!

I had another great weigh-in and updated my signature. I'm in the 80s in kg, in Onederland in pounds, and just plain morbidly obese! Plus I think I weigh less than my husband, who is a foot taller than me.

I had training today (and tomorrow) off-site. This facility has awesome catering. I was able to eat morning tea and lunch and only ate a snack I has brought for lunch. Here is what I had and I didn't feel sick at all.

Breakfast at home: 1/2 cup yogurt, 1 small banana

Morning tea: a tangerine and about 1/3 of a sausage roll

Lunch: a prawn, a few bites of baked chicken (pretty moist and I took tiny bites), a crouton, a bit of boiled egg, half a thin slice of salami, a couple noodles from a noodle salad, small piece of Tomato, small piece of capsicum. And one bite of strawberry cake. I logged all this and it was about 130 calories.

Afternoon snack: 2 cheese sticks (instead of a timtam)

I will probably just have the last of my purée chicken with some gravy for dinner. I will end up just over 800 calories.

I listed this to show people what they might be able to look forward to. I know some people don't tolerate this stuff.

One thing is that I have been able to tolerate Water but now that I'm on solids Water tastes bitter. :(

Thank you misty.Your food diaries are a big help with what to expect.Congratulations on the weight loss so far.

I'm glad it helps! For dinner I had one egg, very gently scrambled, 3 g of mozzarella, and 40 g of salsa. It was filling but again no trouble.

Keep in mind that my dietitian told me I don't need to do a specific soft food stage, but just chew everything very well and avoid dry meat for a while. Some people wouldn't try raw veggies yet. I haven't had much of any one solid food. Maybe that's why I have tolerated everything well. His chewing guideline is don't swallow until every chunk is smaller than a single pea. Also I stopped eating lunch when everyone else was done. I just ate a lot less.

How's everyone going?? Been a bit quiet this week.

Wasn't going to have a good funeral but have been counting down my "last meals". 3 days in Central QLD and then off to NZ for 3 nights next week so going to have my fill of eating out for sure. Mum is coming to cook for me even Sunday night!

That's a funny typo. :) Just so you know you can edit your post if you click near the top of it.

I have been in training the past two days, and I'm taking tomorrow as a holiday. We are going camping at Noosa north shore!

I have had no problem at all eating solid food. I had chicken salad tonight with some diced capsicum and onion and had no trouble even though some people seem to have trouble with raw veg. I have had meat and crackers and a bit of rice and avocado and boiled egg. I don't know if I am just lucky or what, but I'm just taking everything slowly and in tiny bites and chewing well. I had a couple mini quiche today for morning tea even!

Managing to stay under 900 calories right now even though I could definitely eat many more if I chose the wrong foods.

Lots of Last Suppers!!! You will be able to enjoy all your favourites with the sleeve, but in small quantities. I say enjoy the quantities while you can if you want to as it will be the last time you will be able to. A mental saying goodbye to feasting.

Lol! Did a big double take reading this one Brendani :))

Starting to fight the urge to 'last supper' myself. I know that I will eventually eat just about everything I like after the sleeve - just in teensy portions. All those years of dieting and calorie counting have done my head in.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
