Lissa_S 787 Posted February 16, 2013 Thanks all feeling pretty good about it all! Should know by the end of next week - it's going to be a long week Will have to get out there and exercise my stress away instead of eating it - thank goodness I have my new running app to motivate me

kelliv 659 Posted February 16, 2013 Hi everyone' date=' sorry I haven't updated you guys sooner on my surgery! I had my sleeve done 12/2/13. Everything went well with the surgery and the surgeon was really happy with the sleeve. When I woke up I had pretty bad pain across my chest, so had lots of morphine and endone, so I was pretty wiped out that night.I haven't had any problems getting my liquids down, the only one I have problems with is straight Water, so I just add a little hydrolite or diet cordial and it's fine. I have suffered really bad Migraines for the past three days, so I'm hoping that passes soon! Apart from a little bit of tiredness I'm going well. The pain from the incisions is very minimal, so not a problem with that! Pre op I was 111.8kg, day of surgery I was 106kg and today (day 5) I am 105.9kg. Not a huge weight change yet, but now that I'm home, off the IV fluids and the swelling starts to go down hopefully the weightloss will happen![/quote'] Hi Angie, very glad to hear it all went well. You may find drinking Water really cold helps. I also struggle with water at room temperature.

angiep 29 Posted February 17, 2013 Any tips on getting in calories while on the free Fluid stage of post op? I'm not at all hungry but feel really weak due to lack of food. Is this just something you have to put up with until the purée diet commences (Wednesday 20th Feb)?
Swift Kate 72 Posted February 17, 2013 Hi angiep, my dietitian recommended a cold milo drink with an extra scoop of natural Protein Powder. I mixed it all up with a heap of ice cubes in the blender. The ice made it seem thicker. I found it really yummy and quite filling. Hang in there.
Swift Kate 72 Posted February 17, 2013 Just remembered I also ate Fruche. Not technically a liquid but became one one it went Into the mouth.

I have been having a cold milo for Breakfast plus make smoothies with frozen banana milk ice cream & sustagen plus also throw in a egg, it's nice & thick. My dietician told me to up my calories so the ice cream is good, have also been having puréed chicken veggie Soup, jelly, yoghurt & custard. Also made watermelon & pinball pile juice which is delicious. Have to say I feel fine but get tired easily too. Hang in there.
