Dean - I don't own scales. Even now although the temptation to buy them has been great. The reason I don't is that I know I wouldn't be able to keep checking my weight :) I work at a hospital so now that I am back at work' date=' I just nip into the office and weigh myself once per week. It's not for everyone but it works for me :)[/quote']

Lila, love the latest pic. You look younger already and I am glad you survived the social outing tonight, even though you didn't eat. You are doing so well. Can't wait to meet you in the future looking all skinny. We all feel like we've been on the journey with you so far so are very excited to see your brilliant progress now.

Lila' date=' it is quite common. It is empty looking for food..I still get it sometimes.

In other news, guess I have moved into the next phase, have been diagnosed with gallstones and will be getting my gallbladder removed the first week of Jan, could not face missing out on Christmas events :)

Apparently gallstones are quite common with people who lost significant amounts of weight quickly, so I guess it was only a matter of time. One way to loose another 100gms or so :)[/quote']

It's a pretty simple operation these days. I had mine gallbladder out years ago and have never missed it!

Ok the verdict - i have to go for an endoscopy in 2 weeks because i suffer from heartburn. He wants to check that there is nothing sinister going on before the surgery' date=' i was disappointed but when i thought about it i'm glad he is being careful. So at the moment we are still looking mid to late Feb next year pending the endoscopy is good.

Thanks for all your thoughts you are all so lovely![/quote']

Hi mimz, better to be safe than sorry. Hopefully all will be clear or resolved i time for your surgery early next year. Keep us posted.

Guys - I'm about 17 days post op and things seem to be going really well.

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes I feel a little light headed (I wouldn't go as far to say dizzy) if I stand up quickly.

Do you think it's a blood pressure thing' date=' or is it normal with the very low calorie intake?

My blood pressure has always been perfect and I've never felt light headed pre surgery.

Hope your all having a good weekend, I'm working :(

Deano[/quote']

I am working all weekend too, but it's normal for me. I am flying to Port Douglas though tomorrow to work for the week, so will pretend the travelling time is a day off.

Hey do you think we should start an Australian VSG group? I think it might be better than using the one thread because you can have different topics, is that right?

I'm thinking it might help down the track if people are trying to look things up.

I think that's a GREAT IDEA, no offence to the rest of the world....it would be great to read more local experiences, without having to scan through the multitudes of o/s posts. Weights in kgs not pounds! Etc.

there is one called Gastric Sleeve Forum..it too is a worldwide one..but I must have only registered for Australia or something, as it seems. Most posts are from aus.

Cheers

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
