I hear a lot of the sleeve veteran's say not to look at foods as you'll never eat them again. It'll just be awhile and in much smaller portions. Good luck on your liquid diet, your in the home stretch now!

Hi Trueme,

I noticed that your in Boston (i am in Waltham) and i was curious where you are going for your sleeve? I am having mine done most likely in August at Lahey in Burlington. Good luck with your liquid diet and look forward to reading your progress. :)

Trueme, I hear you loud and clear. I actually started mine on Saturday because I didn't want to be extra cranky at work. So far so good. Plus my nutritionist gave me two good recipes that I love. She told me to freeze vanilla Protein Shake and make ice cubes then add diet orange soda or diet root beer to it. It is delicious. I am having fun trying new things. Did I mention that on Friday I couldn't eat my whole cheeseburger from five guys......... So much for my last meal.....May 22nd here I come!!!!!!

I am starting my pre op tomorrow. Until just a few minutes ago, I though I only had to do 7 days, just found out I had to do 14 days so no time to do the last meal bit. I am being done on the 23rd with Dr. Kelly. I think in this post alone that their are 3 of us being done within a day of each other. We need to work through this pre-op together however that needs to happen. We can do this!

That's awesome!!! This is going to be hard only because my Sugar level dropped dangerously so I might have to Go on a partial liquid..I started to get the sweats and the shakes ..come to find out I'm not eating enough carbs..my morning to lunch calorie intake was 400..but the carbs were less than 200..my endocrinologist was not happy! This is a lot and only day 1!! Oye mind you I wasn't hungry I was find!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
