Not Sure If I Should Worry

Recommended Posts

O, so I went camping all weekend in our RV. I did lots of walking, swimming and spending time outside in the heat. I felt fine until today, I have been so sick to my stomach and cant eat anything. Im also having a hard time drinking Water because it makes me sick to my stomach. I am almost 6 wks post op and have had no complications at all. Well, when I got home alittle bit ago I took some phenegran for nausea. 30 minutes later I was gagging and throwing up slim with just a small trace amount of blood. Very small amount of streaks of blood. Anyone else have this happen? Did I over do it? Am I dehydrated? Should I worry?

I haven't had anything like that happen, but i don't think it sounds normal at all. You should call your doctor and just check. Better safe than sorry!

try a sugar free popsicle if you have any on hand. if you are unable to keep any fluids down then that is an issue and needs to be taken care of ASAP. traces of blood in you slime miight be a reason to call your MD but not run to the ED for. If it was vomiting bright red blood and buckets of it then run there.

A few weeks ago I went to Chicago for a week, I was fine, when I came home I was sick for three days. Could not eat or drink, foamies, and chills. It left as fast as it came. If you start running fever I would worry and listen to your body

When in doubt, call your doc. They usually have someone on call to answer your questions. It's better to be safe than sorry IMHO.

Thanks everyone. I feel much better now. I really think I was dehydrated or I over did it. I was able to keep the sf popcicles down and I started feeling better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
