findingme2 0 Posted August 17, 2006 Hi all: As I have started the journey of re-gaining my life (and me) I am struck by the little things about losing. Please share your thoughts about the great things about being a loser!!! *I can bend over to put on or take off my disabled husband's shoes without feeling like I will suffocate. *I can roll over in bed with much greater ease (this one's for my band-buddy who said this to me the other day) *I walked by the mirror and swore I saw a waist trying to appear!!!! What are your little things that are great?? Ruthie Banded 7-11-06 (oh thank heaven for 7-11!!!) Dr. N. Bertha/St. Clare's Hospital Dover, New Jersey
ericsmom 2 Posted August 17, 2006 *I can also bend over and tie my own shoes without suffocating or being in extreme pain from my arthritis in my knees. *I noticed my sides of my thighs don't touch my chair here at the computer. *My stomach doesn't push against the steering wheel anymore. *I realize it's not the end of the world to not be drinking caffiene free diet coke and eating ice cream! sleepyjean 0 Posted August 17, 2006 I can WALK! I used to have pains in my legs so bad that I couldn't go even one block. Now I go on 45 minute walks around my neighborhood.
beachgirl 2 Posted August 17, 2006 I can live and have lived since the death of my coca cola habit, yes, coke, not diet. I would drink up to 8 a day, and wonder how I got fat. My stomach isn't a arm rest for my arms when they're tired. Had sex more in the last month than all of last year. Can and am riding a bike. Feel better and not so depressed all of the time. Am losing weight, finally, after ever diet plan in the world failed. I seem to be a friendly more likeable person, I was beginning to be a real bitch. OLIVIA 0 Posted August 17, 2006 I have a "small" stand up shower. Today, I had no problem bending over and shaving my legs. It was a great way to start the day! :clap2:
ralheit 1 Posted August 17, 2006 I'm finally walking without my cane. Not quite at 45 minute walks yet, but I hope to get there soon. Less huffing and puffing when I'm moving around. Beginning to be happy to be me again.
LapBandit 5 Posted August 18, 2006 *Feeling bones that you knew were inside you but have been hidden for years! *Not worrying about the food selection when planning social gatherings. *Knowing that exercise is NOT going to wipe me out for the rest of the day. *Getting to throw away clothes because they don't fit because they're too big not because I'm like a stuffed sausage in them.
