Everyone is different. I just take 1 day at a time and I don't ever want to eat 1/2 an omelette. I tried eating 2 eggs the other day and I failed miserably. But was very happy! At seven months out, I eat 1 egg with some cheese and before that I will drink a Premier Protein drink. ;)

Like Dorrie said, everyone is different and you will get different responses. I will be a year out the end of June. Much of it depends on what kind of foods you are eating. If you are eating more dense foods, there is a good chance you won't be able to eat that much- maybe a small chicken breast and a small vegetable. If you are eating less dense foods, let's say potatoe chips, cake, and other foods known as sliders, you will be able to eat much more. That is true regardless of what stage you are at in your surgery. You will notice you can eat a litle more as time goes on. But, there are also some variables that can be difficult to compare apples to apples. What size bougie is your Dr. using? Is he going over the staple line to make it smaller than the size of the bougie, is he sewing outside the bougie, etc... What I'm getting at is that there is some evidence that the larger your stomach starts out can affect the volume of food you eat. I'm not saying it means a person will be less successful in their weight loss, but that people will notice a difference in what they can eat.

Anyhow, I know you are just looking for people's feedback, but I would recommend that you focus on following your Dr.'s plan and stay on track as best you can. Everyone's rate of weight loss will vary, as will many other things. The important thing is you have made the commitment to a healthier lifestyle.

Oh, and as for me on what I can eat right now. I am very satisfied with 1 egg w/a little salsa and 2 pieces of bacon. Depending on how the meat is cooked, sometimes I can't eat more than a few bites before feeling very full. If it's really tender like having been in the crockpot and the meat falls off the fork, I could probably eat a half a cup or so, coupled with a very small side of veggies.

leesakake - I was sleeved on 4/23 and had been wondering the same thing. If you go to Youtube and do a search for gastric sleeve diets - you will see a lot of videos from different people giving examples of what they can eat in a day at a few months or a few years out. Hope that helps.

I can eat half of a 3 egg omelette, but I can't eat a half a sandwich. I can't eat a lot of bread. I tend to eat the insides of the sandwich and not the bread.I am almost 9 months out.

17months out today.

For dinner I had a thin lean hamburger pattie a piece of provolone cheese on those thin Buns. I ate 3/4 of it and I had three spoon fulls of peas and carrots.

My favorite lunch in 3 turkey meatballs with 1/2 cups of Tomato sauce

My favorite Breakfast is a Protein shake

I can eat 2 small hard tacos if they are not ovefilled with lettuce and meat and chees...just regular

I can eat 1/2 a chicken breast if I eat slowly and some veggies

I can only eat 1 egg and 1 piece of toast or maybe 2 pieces of turkey bacon instead of the toast.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
