1 Month Weight Loss Stall

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm freaking out! Surgery was 4/4 and a month later I have lost a total of 21pounds since surgery and 30 since preop diet. But that's it! I have been stalled for about a week now loosing a pound over the past week. Not sure why this is happening I am not exceeding 600-700 calories a day and mostly Proteins. Has anyone had this happen? Getting REALLY sad that I went through this for 30 pounds!

Don't freak out, its common. If you search stall on here you will get so many threads between week these and five. It happens to us all. 21 pounds since surgery is great. Just remember that this will pass.

You're right on course I'd say. I'm one month out today and have lost 28. I also stalled and lost only two pounds this week. It's tough but I try not to compare my circumstance to others on the site or have unreasonable expectations. I wish I'd lost more, but I'm glad I've lost this much weight through hard work and sacrifice. Besides, I bet if we took an average of everyone at one month, we're probably just right where we should be. Relax.

Remember back when we'd kill to lose 20 lbs? That was a month ago.

Thanks everyone. I know that these stalls r common. I am thankful for the loss I've had so far BUT it's good to hear from others that have been or are going thru this... It's comforting :-)

I was sleeved on 4/3 and just today broke a 9 day stall. Not only did I not lose anything in those days, my body had the nerve to gain 2 pounds!!! I eat 700-800 calories a day, also mostly Protein.

Today, I not only lost the 2 pounds I gained during the last 10 days, but also 2 more. I hope this means the stall is over for good.

Update!! As of tuesday morning I lost another 2 pounds but I am now traveling for work and they don't have a scale at the hotel so I can't weight myself till Saturday morning. That's good cause I was weighting myself EVERYDAY.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
