suthern_girl2012 5 Posted May 6, 2012 My incision on my left side is hard 6 days since surgery. Is this normal???
Star1221 270 Posted May 6, 2012 Yes ma'am. Totally normal. That's the only one that is still hard for me too. Even the larger on that the stomach was pulled out of feels smoother than that one. No worries unless it's hurting.
jerseyjandj 105 Posted May 6, 2012 Is it warm, hot to touch?
Jeni Martin 26 Posted May 6, 2012 That was the first on to heal for me. The one taking the longest is the long on the right side. I had thought it was infected, but when the doctor office looked at it they said it was healing and the leaking from mine was the internal stitches dissolving, I have had two of the stitches dissolve on the bottom and slide out of the incision.. Mews 37 Posted May 7, 2012 My big one right above my belly button is hard as well. As long as it's not red and hot to the touch (signs of infection), you should be fine.

Wheetsin 714 Posted May 7, 2012 I'm about 6 weeks out and mine still hurts on occasion. When I had my lapband out one of my incisions became infected, and it spread to another nearby incision. They were hard, but it was under the skin and felt almost oval - like I had an enlongated marble under my skin. The skin was angry red around the incision, almost purple, and radiating heat much like a sunburn would. It started off hard, but much smaller - more like a pea, and just sort of discolored reddish/brown at the skin. I never ran a fever. Hardness without the heat/discoloration/etc. could still be swelling, or even scar tissue.
