I take them before bed, so by the time early morning comes they have worn off that's what's killing me :(

Neeve, I'm still awake too....just took my pain med and hoping it kicks in soon. Can you take them every 4-6 hours? I was sleeved on Monday and take them before bed and my prescription says every 4-6 hours so on nights like tonight... It's been long enough and I'm taking them again. During the day it's not so bad but nights are totally different. Hope you get some relief and rest :)

Good. You've got to "stay behind the pain." Take them on a regular basis and keep them in your system. I hope you get relief from your pain very soon!!

I was very sore in the mornings, I then started sleeping at an inclined position, it was much better. Try putting a pillow under your knees and if you are a side sleeper make sure to have a soft support pillow for you to hug.

If you need the pain meds, take them! :) There's no award for being in pain. If necessary, set a timer for that second dose at night so that you take it before you start hurting again.

I've read that others have had to sleep in a recliner rather than in a bed. Some claim that a heating pad helps them. Whatever you need to do to manage your pain, you should do.

Good luck!!

Try taking a pillow or two and placing it under your tummy as you lay on your side this way your tummy is directly on the pillow instead of the bed...for me gravity was my worst enemy...the pressure from my weighted tummy pulling down was rough on my incisions...feel better...

Is it Gas? You may need to take gas x or something. My Dr. Prescribed me Prilosec but it was like $60 bucks.... The Pharmacist recommended over the counter.

All weekend the gas has moved through me like hurricane 5 lol :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
