I would seriously be careful. You could get a leak at only 10 days out.

Even if you don't get a leak, there is a ton of internal healing that has to take place. Small bits of food can get trapped along your staple line and cause an abscess or infection. Take care!!

I think, on this forum, you'll find opinions vary greatly, but I was told by my surgeon that it will take 8-12 weeks for the stomach to heal.

He told me that he has seen many patients make the mistake of eating too early, because their impression is, "if it didn't make me hurt or get sick, it must be ok." But there is so much healing going on that you can't feel. He told me I can't follow that philosophy until about week 10 (4 more weeks-grrrr). Just me spouting the 2 cents that I was told (I'm not trying to judge or preach to anyone!

Oh I sent it through the blender once.. by eating it normal I meant I didn't have to eat turtle slow and didn't get my usual discomfort
