NancyJerry 139 Posted May 6, 2012 How long does that normally take I think, on this forum, you'll find opinions vary greatly, but I was told by my surgeon that it will take 8-12 weeks for the stomach to heal. He told me that he has seen many patients make the mistake of eating too early, because their impression is, "if it didn't make me hurt or get sick, it must be ok." But there is so much healing going on that you can't feel. He told me I can't follow that philosophy until about week 10 (4 more weeks-grrrr).
