Guilty Feeling Never Ends!

Recommended Posts

So today was a very emotional day for me. Missing food a lot. So i ate a total of 300 hundred calories today. Instead of saying OK i got through another day of healing, I am feeling guilty thinking of am I drinking too much that it is stretching my stomach? Then I beat myself up because I didn't get all my Protein in. I really try. It is hard some days..anyone else ever feel this way..

Since my surgery almost 5 weeks ago, eating and drinking consume a majority of my thoughts as well but I dont feel guilty, I just worry a lot. I worry about eating enough so that my body isnt in starvation mode so I can lose weight. I worry that I am drinking enough Water so that water gets flushed out of my body. The only thing I really dont worry about is getting in enough Protein because I seem to get all that in. This is a huge emotional roller coaster ride for me but I try to live it one day at a time. Don't feel guilty. Every day you get stronger and stronger and you will have no problem reaching your goals.

I am almost 9 months post op. I still have a hard time getting all of my Protein in. dont beat yourself up. just try to squeeze in those extra things when you can. I add egg to everything, and I use Protein Powder in a lot of my cooking. sometimes it is hard to do....you arent going to drop dead if you dont get every little bit of protein in everyday, so stop stressing....start being clever, you might find it fun :) good luck!

My Protein shake has 60g of Protein in it. It's called amplified wheybolic extreme 60 and I get it from GNC. I drink half in the morning for Breakfast, eat chicken, fish or eggs the rest of the day and then drink the rest of my Protein Shake in the early evening. Throughout the day, I drink 3 to 4 16.9oz bottles of Water with propel zero packets in them and ice cold. My meals are simple. A few ounces of chicken or fish has tons of protein so i stick with that. That way I know I'm always getting it in. I don't eat anything else until I have all my protein in. I eat babybel cheese as well. I stay away from yogurts and milk because they slow my weight loss down. I also eat Pork rinds because they have protein and melt in your mouth.

Thanks for your input are these shakes already made? Are there any flavored preference? So you eat meat by itself? Isn't that dry? Where do you find pork rinds? Doesn't that increase your cholesterol? Sorry for all the questions? Just want to kno what to eat when I'm allowed to eat

No you have to mix the shake yourself in 12oz of Water. I prefer the chocolate. It tastes like chocolate milk especially when really cold. I put ice cubes in mine. I do eat meat by itself and it's not dry if you season it correctly. Sometimes with my chicken and tuna I add a little fat free mayo and mustard. Fish I use lemon. Yum. You can get pork rinds in the chip section of any store. I get the BBQ ones. I guess they could raise your cholesterol if you eat an enormous amount but I eat 1/2oz if that and it has 4.5g fat if which only 1.5 is saturated, no carbs, 15mg cholesterol, and 8g Protein. I don't eat a lot or every day but once in awhile. I rarely go over my allotted limits especially using myfitnesspal.

I use amplified wheybolic extreme 60. For chicken, I put it in a baking dish and poor a little

Low sodium college inn chicken broth over it, season it with garlic salt and put a piece of lemon slice over each piece. Cover with aluminum foil, poke a few breathe holes and bake til done. I use boneless, skinless chicken and it comes out pretty moist and has a hint of lemon to it. Tuna I just eat straight from the can or I cut some egg whites into it and mix it with light mayo and mustard and eat that way.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
