I'll be 5 weeks post op on Monday. I am losing way more inches than weight (23lbs to date) but I'm so dang frustrated. I went to try on some old clothes after my shower and they are still way too tight. They were a size 22-24 pair of jeans. I had to put my size 26-28 pair of pants back on and they fit comfortably. I know what everyone is going to say but it doesn't make me feel any better knowing that my progress is slow as hell despite my efforts to work out 5 days a week and follow the diet religiously. I'm ready to see bigger changes and have it be more noticeable to those around me. I want to cry.

It is hard to not get frustrated. I feel the same. There is a lot of give in plus size clothing and that adds to the frustration. I started as a tight 22 and now 18 are loose but 16 is too tight. Wth! I love my sleeve but impatience sometimes gets the best of me. I have to keep reminding myself how amazing it is I have lost over 50 lb and I will get to goal soon enough.

I haven't gone down any clothing size though.

Be patient. I started at a tight 18W, even wearing some 20W. After 60 lbs I was frustrated that I was only in a 16. Then within the next 10-20 lbs, I went to a 14 and now they are getting loose. Haven't tried a 12 yet, that's just too unbelievable to me. But the more you lose, the faster the sizes will change. As long as you feel good, be proud of yourself. It will come.

Don't get too frustrated by this. Suddenly you'll be pulling off those smaller pants without unzipping or unbuttoning them and you'll be lamenting that you have no clothing that fits!

I know how you feel, my first 30 pounds lost I couldn't fit in smaller clothes and I was pretty frustrated. Then over the past few weeks I have lost 10 pounds and dropped 2 pants sizes. You will be there soon, but I totally get your frustration!

We were sleeved around the same time and I was experiencing exactly the same thing as you. Losing inches, but not going down on the scale or clothes sizes. I'm working on the "get the Protein and Fluid in" principle. This morning I'm down two pounds from last week. Phew.

That's awesome. I get my Protein and Water in daily with no trouble. I don't know what the problem is.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
