katyb 36 Posted May 4, 2012 Did anyone have issues with headaches immediately post-op? I'm four days out and have a killer headache today. Other than dehydration, what has caused this for anyone?
jme53071 18 Posted May 4, 2012 I did from caffeine and sugar withdrawal. Also, when I was borderline dehydrated I got headaches as well. Feel better!
PollyBlue 22 Posted May 4, 2012 Yes! I think it can be combination of what jme said above and anaesthetics.
MG in SD 75 Posted May 4, 2012 Ok, so this might sound crazy, but I was having terrible headaches from caffiene withdrawl and I found a strange suggestion that worked. There is a yoga breathing technique where you plug your right nostril and breathe in and out deeply through your left nostril for 5 minutes. Crazily enough, it works. There is all sorts of stuff about it on the internet. May want to give it a whirl. Good luck!
Sassygirl06 962 Posted May 5, 2012 the headaches can be caused from the pain meds too. the pain meds they give us can cause a thing called rebound headache. I got that a lot when i was on them. hope you feel better
katyb 36 Posted May 5, 2012 I think I've narrowed it down to the Zofran. I've been taking it every 6 hours as prescribed, and headaches are one of the common side effects. I didn't start getting the headaches until they started me on orally dissolving Zofran, rather than the IV Zofran. I'm gonna try the breathing trick, though! bigkim 109 Posted May 5, 2012 I have headaches none stop since surg on April 10th. Sometimes I just wake up with a headache. I am assuming it is lack of fluids.
