cmartin15 3 Posted May 4, 2012 Anyone regret the sleeve and wish they had a band ? I'm torn over the decision. Any input would be great.
urbandecayno5 40 Posted May 4, 2012 I don't regret it im 11days out but the girl I shared a hospital room with had her band removed due to erosion and also had massive amount of scar tissue removed. She said she wish she had the sleeve
jme53071 18 Posted May 4, 2012 I absolutely, positively do NOT wish I did the LapBand. I'm 11 days post-op. I wouldn't change a thing. That's not to say this is a breeze.....but I'm far more confident in my future success with this procedure. Good luck!
Stacey Nicole 40 Posted May 4, 2012 Look at the long term complication rates and upkeep over the years - I would never chose the band!!!! I want to LIVE my life!
carbgrl 119 Posted May 4, 2012 I had the band and wished I would have got the sleeve to begin with. I was to chicken. It was a big waste of time and money. I did lose weight at first but, then I got to the point were I was vomiting everyday and couldn't eat chicken, turkey, veggies, salad... healthy stuff. I was less than 10 lbs to my goal for about 5 mins then started gaining weight. I'm so happy to have it out. Even if it never had a slippage or erosion, I couldn't live with vomiting for the rest of my life. I'm glad I got the sleeve now. I can eat good healthy food in much smaller quantities. If I had know that the risks were higher for revisions than for virgin sleeves I might have decided to go with the sleeve. Thank God I didn't have any major complications.
