7 Wks Post Op And Have Been On A Stall For A Couple Wks

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 3-12-12 and have lost about 31 lbs in all. Very disappointed because I seem to have stopped losing weight. For the past couple of weeks I've been on a stall...ugh! I see my self no different. What gives ?!?

I was sleeved on 3-1 the first two weeks the weight came right off. Now I stall out for a few days/week or so and then lose only a pound! I know whatcha mean. I'm feeling very disappointed too! I think it's very normal, but I still don't like it! Starting weight was 187 I am currently 155. So only 32lbs!!

Take your measurements! That's my best advice for dealing with stalls. I have lost and then stalled, but during the stalls is when I lose inches and sizes. Have patience. If you were at a certain weight for a long time gaining weight, you'll be stalled at that weight losing it as well. Our bodies liked it at that weight before, and I think the body remembers.

Good luck!!

Ladies, I am having the same problem... Sleeved on 3/7 and I have been stuck for almost two weeks:(. I am pushing myself harder on the workouts, counting my Protein intake and ensuring that I drink enough water/crystal light. Hopefully soon we will push thru this stall and be on the track of losing once again! Good luck!

Like Lissa, I'm further out on my Dec. 27 sleeve. But I've lost weight in fits and starts. I'll stall for two or three weeks, then bang I'm down two or three or five pounds. But it's been slow ever since about the four week mark.

I'll confess I'm in another big time stall and I'm guessing that's just the way it goes. You can't keep eating these few calories and not lose weight.

That said, your body couldn't keep up the pace of weight loss it had in the first month. And who would want to?

Hope that helps ...

Onward,

Carol

Are yall all using a program like fit day? I am actually using it to tweak my food intake. I have noticed my sodium climbing so I lowered it to 700mg "it was at 2250mgx4days and I gained a pound from increased Water retention. Once lowered it fell off overnight. All I am saying is that it is an awesome tool to use to help our own tool work better to see better results.

When you record your daily intake look at everything. You can notice patterns and when you stop losing you can go back to look at whats been going on and manipulate certain things to kickstart the losing process once again.

Keep in mind working out increases alot of cortisol, Water retention, and other things I cant really think of cause I just woke up.

Me too.....to make matters worse I had finally come to accept that I was loosing slowly only to have my np tell me I was not loosing successfully. She said I should be loosing way more than that and she was dissappointed with my progress. Made me feel like crap. I'm doing what I'm suppose to and following diet guidelines . Idk what I'm doing wrong to keep the weight from "falling off"...........

Your NP should kick rocks. Shes just hating on you. Maybe the diet guide lines that she gave you suck. I started drinking 5 RTD Low carb Protein shakes yesterday and plan on doing so for 5 days. Try something like that.

I started at 262, now I'm 231....It's good to know that I'm not the only one...believe me I've been patient but can't help getting frustrated. The darn scale won't budge and I don't notice my clothes fitting any different...I started using my fitness pal in hopes that it will help me with the food intake and so on...I'm wondering if I should've opted for the roux-en-y instead...ugh :/

I had surgery on April 9th and stalled 3 days ago. I was beginning to worry until I read these posts! I do record everything on my fitness pal but need to go back and look at the trends. I'm down 37 lbs.

All of you, try shaking things up if you truly feel that you're not losing well. Add in a few calories/carbs, or decrease both. Try not exercising for a couple of days if you've been really working hard, or, if you haven't been exercising, add in a little extra. I'm not talking marathons here, just add in 15 minutes on the treadmill or bike, or take away that same 15 minutes if you've been steadily doing it. Change the exercise you're doing. Sometimes you just have to shock your body out of a rut.

UP your Water. Water makes us feel better, removes toxins, and helps flush that nasty fat out of our systems. The recommendation is 64 oz daily, but I believe that power-losers like Lil Miss Diva drank up to 100 oz a day during the losing phases.

Make sure you're getting in your Protein and that you are eating ENOUGH. While it may seem that 500 calories a day is a terrific way to lose, it's not really. Your body need fuel to run properly. Without fuel, it holds onto every calorie it gets.

I'm religious about the water and Protein and getting in my Vitamins. Everything else is pretty flexible for me. I've had a couple of stalls and my losses have really slowed down since February, but I've been working out hardcore (for me) and I'm seeing results in my size and in my measurements. When I'm not losing pounds is when I see myself shape-shift. I'll take the trade-off.

That explains it. I'm only up to 4 servings of Water a day. I can't fit them all in! And i'm only eating about 400 calories a day. I'll try to increase both.

I was eating 400-500 calories (all my Water and Protein included) and now I'm up to 800 and still haven't broke the stall I've been on for a couple of wks, so frustrating ...but I am determined to lose soon..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
