bethany1987 66 Posted May 3, 2012 Before I had surgery I did a weight loss program when you took a weekly shot with B12, b6, and something called lipotropic I think. Does anyone know if this shot could be used after surgery? I know the b12 could help a lot with energy and my hope is that the lipotropic which is used to break down fat would be able to do the same now as it did before. I just want to make sure it's not something that would hurt me. I still am going to ask my dr but I wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with this. Thanks :] Sent from my iPhone using VST
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted May 3, 2012 I have a B complex every 3 months, and it contains some extras but I think they are more for Iron, Vit. D absorption (aided by sunlight) and such...It isn't a weight loss shot. Lipotropic protiens help break down fat I think...but not sure if injecting them helps. Curious to see what answers you get. 5DoxieMom 87 Posted May 3, 2012 I used to take those shots weekly along with daily pills as part of a weight loss program years ago (at least 15-20). I lost weight, lots of it, but of course it came back. I wouldn't go there again. If your sleeve isn't enough, and you're looking for additional help, I'd check out qnexa. It won't be approved until July specifically for weight loss, but the 2 drugs that are combined to make it ARE available now, and have been in use for a long time. Some people are getting their doctors to order those 2 drugs (phentermine and toprimate).
bethany1987 66 Posted May 3, 2012 My sleeve is doing great. Down 27lb in 1 month and 1 week since surgery. I just am looking for a little something extra to get my body feeling better and more fueled for work outs and stuff. I took phenermine(sp) a while ago and it made me insanely shaky for some reason.
