Ok so this is a stupid question and I haven't been able to find anyone with this question

I am a 54 year old female and I am going in for the gastric sleeve at the end of June or early July (haven't gotten the call back from the hospital coordinator yet) and one of my concerns is being able to ride my motorcycle. Yeah I know, stupid but I ride a 750 pound motorcycle and I do have a car for going back and forth to my clients for my business but I also love to ride on the weekends or at nite when I get home from working

Any guys or gals also ride that might be able to tell me their experiences?

Thanks

Holy Crap I am nervous but ready to get this done

I don't see why you would have an issue. I've seen people back to riding horses within a month. I was swimming at two weeks out very hard too. I did wait until six weeks to golf because it wasn't comfortable and I worried about hurting my sleeve. Good luck to you!

I have a friend who had the DS surgery and he rides ALL the time now. Shouldn't be a concern. :)

Thanks - I would think maybe a week or two tops til I heal at least enough to use my stomach muscles for riding

Awesome thanks. By the time my surgery is going to happen it will be 118 here anyway so that's why I am doing it during the summer. If it was in March or April I would say no way since I ride every day other then June - August

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
