bellabbr 50 Posted May 1, 2012 The last time I went to the dentist was 9 months ago. I had one cavity he took care of it we were good. I had surgery 5 months ago and today I went to a brand new dentist (I just moved to the area). He told me I had some decalcification (expected) but that I had 8 cavities. 3 big ones and 5 small ones. I am definitely going to get a second opinion because 8 cavities in 9 months seems absurd and I haven't had any pain whatsoever. That is why I was shocked, but I was wondering if its normal to have teeth issues after this surgery?? Also was anything different?? The dentist wants me to find a physician to clear me for anesthesia before he treats me and he doesn't know what kind of dosage to give me since our stomachs is so much smaller. So if you did go to the dentist after surgery was anything done differently?? Anything I need to keep an eye out for?? Thank you

The dosage of anesthesia isn't calculated or effected by the size of your stomach, it's calculated by your height and weight. And why would you need to be cleared for anesthesia anyway, don't they use novacane to do fillings like most dentists? I'm so confused...
diochick 40 Posted May 1, 2012 I'd recommend a 2nd opinion as well. I just went for my 6 month check up last week, and had 0 cavities.
bellabbr 50 Posted May 1, 2012 To remove my wisdom they would need to put me under. I forgot to mention I got one wisdom that needs to be removed because its impacted. Again not causing pain but he said it needs to be gone. Okay thank you. I will definitely get a second opnion. I didn't know if this surgery affected our teeth health or not.
