4mydogs 10 Posted May 1, 2012 I scheduled to have surgery May 8th. As time draws closer I keep asking myself is this real? Should I be worried? I think I'm just getting scared, NOT of the surgery, risks and all I'm not new to the operating room. I'm worried about my love for food and the struggle that will come from eating until satisfied instead of til I'm full. I've always over ate just because it tastes good. Please tell me it will be okay and I'll be satisfied with less!
alovio 76 Posted May 1, 2012 you'll be fine, I am 10 post op. First week you wont want to eat just drink. I remember day of surgery I was hungry. I rmebr thinking im gonna wake up hungry, that wasnt the case, I woke up in pain the first 45 minutes after surgery are the worst because of nausea and gas but after its piece of cake. Rigt now i am on mushies so nothing solid , its funny how 1/2 cup of Soup fills me up and makes me feel satisfied. dont worry eventually you can eat all favorite foods just at a smaller amounts. good luck and remember you making right choice for a healthier longer life. JaimeC 4 Posted May 1, 2012 I am 3 months post op and still get tickled pink when I get full from 2 1/2 oz of chicken and an ounce of veggies. I still have cravings, but it's something in your mind that you need to take control of. It all works itself out, I promise. I love food and am learning to cook smaller, healthier, and even tastier portions. YOU GOT THIS!
