Ent out to the east coast last week and I saw this...a seatbelt with an extra 8 or 9 inches. When did they lengthen them?...lol. I almost needed and extension the last time I got on a plane so this is a major deal for me.

I fly tomorrow for the first time since surgery 8.75 months ago. I cant wait to see where the seatbelt is. I will take a picture too! I have lost 82 pounds and the last time I was on a plane was last spring for 8 hours to Brazil. The seat belt barely fastened and dug into my hips and I couldnt put the arm rest down because it mashed by hips and hurt! I hope it is greatly improved this time! Congrats to you!!!!

non-scale victory...anything that represents something good happening that doesn't have to do with the numbers on the scale, like a compliment, wearing a smaller size clothes, etc.

I will be traveling this summer and can't wait to see if my butt only takes up my seat. :) I was close to a seat belt extender but for some reason only needed it on certain airlines/airplanes. Congratulations!

Awesome! Fitting into formerly uncomfortable places always gives me pause to think and reminds me how much better it can get! Congrats!

I've almost always been overweight but when I flew last year it really made me realize just how big I had gotten. Both flights were embarrassing and uncomfortable. I am 7 weeks out and will be flying again in the fall - I can't wait to have the same NSV! Congrats on your success!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
