BlaqBeary 23 Posted June 18, 2012 I believe overall Kaiser has hired more surgeons for this procedure also. Before it was only a few surgeons for so many people. Hope it has helped a better wait time. Thats good!!! At least they are trying to speed the process up. I finished April 27th..n we are about at the same process. So u should have ur surgery sometime next month!! Good luck!

Hope it has helped a better wait time. Right...n they have also started to have more option classes too. They did say the request for surgery has tripled! When I started they told me the next class would be 6 to 8 weeks from the day I had orientation ...but they called the following week. The process is a lot faster then it was back in 2005! When I attempted the first time...glad I didn't do it then, cuz the sleeve was not a option.

Inkdoll 22 Posted June 18, 2012 No more 1 year process!!!! Which is great...u should be sleeved 6 months from June 22nd! Does that mean you have to be sure to keep the 10% weight loss off for possibly 3 months before surgery?
Thickiest2Thick 38 Posted June 18, 2012 Does that mean you have to be sure to keep the 10% weight loss off for possibly 3 months before surgery? Im going to be honest, I didn't. When I went for review I did not lose or gain.. I retained Water due to my monthly..which had me 7lbs heavier then my highest weight..so my process was delayed by a week, cuz he made me come back to see if the Water weight was gone. I did not lose 10% n still was approved.

Im just afraid of them denying it because i gain something back or something IDK
Thickiest2Thick 38 Posted June 18, 2012 My friend gained almost 10lbs ..when she went for her consult n was not denied nor was her surgery postponed...then again each person situation is different....u should be ok...when someone else weigh u weekly u tend to lose weight or maintain...for me it was from fear of embarrassment...lol

BlaqBeary 23 Posted June 18, 2012 This is the discretion of the surgeon, I'm sure. Although I lost about 12lbs by the end of the options class, he told me to not gain anything before surgery or he would re-schedule. I lost 9 more pounds by the date of pre-op, which was the day before surgery. I had to be on liquid the whole day before surgery and when I was weighed again the next morning I had lost another 6lbs. So, I'm thinking, as long as you do not gain, you should be okay. Krys Does that mean you have to be sure to keep the 10% weight loss off for possibly 3 months before surgery? 1 Inkdoll reacted to this
