I'm now 5 days post op and feel great. Very little pain and and hardly ever hungry. I'm VERY bored with liquids and Soups already. I have had a little chili and other things that's aren't in my diet until next week. Hopefully I'm not hurting anything, I feel fine and only take a couple bites and I'm done. I started at 322pds and was 308 day of surgery. Today I was 295. Down 13pds in 5 days!!!

The pounds coming off feel great, don't they? You've done an excellent job. Just be careful about eating thing with "chunks" too early. You may feel great on the inside but you have a VERY long incision on the inside that needs time and soft foods, gliding by, to heal. IMO - this early on, it wouldn't take much for some small piece of food to get caught in that incision line and cause damage.

Keep Rockin' that Sleeve!!

easy on the chili.... pureed carrots were so filling and tasty !!!, try grilling a portabella mushroom and blending it with fat free cream of mushroom Soup . top it off with grated parmesean cheese. adds tons of flavor and Protein.< /p>

I was sleeved on the 24th too.. Craving foods but I'm getting thru it.. Was going to make a Protein smoothie tonite cuz I've been having trouble getting enough protein, so I got some whey protein Greek yogurt And i was going to blend it with some strawberries until I saw I can't have strawberries because of seeds - so back to the drawing board lol

Wow really? No strawberries?

That was one of my burning questions for my NUT when she came to see me in the hospital, she said I could have them!! But I guess every Doctor is different!

I have made protein powder/ Greek yogurt smoothies, they are good. Maybe you can add some SF Torani Syrup or flavored extract to it!!

That will liven things up!

My nut said nothing with seeds intill my stomach was healed. The seeds can get in your staple line.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
