M2G 1,836 Posted April 29, 2012 I'm 18 months out... I can definitely eat more than a cup of food. But it also depends on the type of food. popcorn, and other sliders, I can eat more (so I use Portion Control with sliders) if you are talking chicken, steak, seafood, dense Protein, etc. then I can eat between 3-4 oz and I'm full. I also tend to underfill my sleeve. I still don't have much hunger so it's easy to measure out a portion and just eat that. Just because I CAN eat more doesn't mean that I should eat more. At 3 months post op, I have begun to realize that I can eat a bit more than I used to when I started solids. But not the dense food. I can eat fish and dosa (crepes made out of ground lentils and rice, Indian Breakfast dish) easily. But chicken - not so easy. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Georgia 2,908 Posted April 29, 2012 I'm with M2G. I'm 22 mos out and today I had a half In N Out Burger (my 1st!!!) with one bun removed and a very few fries for lunch. I can eat much more (and did for a few weeks) of slider food- Cookies, crackers, candy etc. which is where you REALLY have to practice self control but to this day can still only eat a very small amt of dense Protein (chicken, beef, etc). So you must eat good food first. The restriction is still there and with your guidelines WORKS! But it IS only a tool and once you get to goal and maintain you still have choices that must be up to you. I've gone back to watching carbs closely and don't intend to regain!
