17jrs 4 Posted May 22, 2012 I am one wk post op now, still tire easily but otherwise feeling great. The scale isn't moving as quick for me, when I came home I was 15lbs more than when I went in! I've lost that Fluid and now 4 down from pre op weight.

irishmama2004 34 Posted May 22, 2012 I check in tomorrow at 7:30. Getting really emotional. My daughter's last day of first grade. Today was my sons' last day of preschool. We have had family in town and dance recitals all day Saturday. They have been nice diversions to keep my mind occupied but now it is really here. I know we will all do great. My friends have organized meals for my family for 3 weeks/4 days a week. What blessing. Many others will be taking my kids for various outings and then my mom is here to help for a week. All the laundry is done, my bag is packed and I just have that nasty bowel prep to do tonight. I will try to post on here or the May FB group at least. MonkeyNurse 26 Posted May 23, 2012 I check in at 5 tomorrow morning and my surgery is scheduled for 8:30. I'm all packed and ready to go. I'm not nervous at all. I've been under general three times so maybe that's why. My kids are more worried than I am. My 17 year old said can't you please just do something not permanent or just try and diet one more time? So cute to see my 6'1 son all worried about his mom.

Aliceinwonder 11 Posted May 23, 2012 I'm a newbie to this website. I am scheduled to be sleeved on 5/28/12; so next Monday. Right now, I am freaking out because I have been over 200 pounds for the last 20 years and I have no idea what this surgery is going to do to me. Most nervous about post-op pain from gas. I am lactose intolerant and am very sensitive to gas. Basically, air makes me burp. I have packed my gas-x chewables, but not sure that is even going to help. My friends say get up and walk as soon as you can to get the gas moved around and dispursed. It's just fear of the unknown and some last minute jitters mixed in. I have been on the pre-op diet for 4 days. My doctor has me doing high Protein and low carb. I have cut as much carb out of my diet as I can leading up to surgery. I am also replacing one meal per day with a shake, just to keep me honest. I am leaving on Saturday and driving from Arizona to California for my surgery. I do all my pre-op on Sunday and surgery is scheduled for Monday.

Seemed like my pain got better once I walked then napped. Don't be afraid, and just keep telling urself the first few days are the hardest...keep in touch!! Aliceinwonder 11 Posted May 24, 2012 Thank You. I'm concerned I'm not gonna want to move. The only person I know who had the surgery, I didn't meet until she was already a few months post-op.
beautifulnewme2012 164 Posted May 24, 2012 I didn't want to move either...I won't lie...it sucked and it was painful actually getting up but the walking wasn't bad at all. And u could literally feel the gas moving around while I was moving. Once u get out of the bed and start the walk its not so bad...
suzcomptime 17 Posted May 24, 2012 Good luck to all you going soon. Mine was Monday and I'd have to say each day was an improvement. Today I came home and so look forward to a good night's sleep. At the hospital I was at they did not have private rooms and the elderly lady on the other side had many issues in the night which required the nurses to come in and so I was awakened so many times for that and for them to take my vitals as well, I was exhausted the next day. Plus my IV would run out or hers would and they would have to be fixing that. Twice I heard them come in and say Bobbie, you're naked. I was hot she said. Haha, gotta love being 80 or 90 and figuring modesty could take second place to comfort.
