When Can I Go Swimming? Almost 4 Weeks Post Op

Recommended Posts

It's supposed to hit 92' today and it's ALREADY warm. I would LOVE to get out the house and hit the pool but I am only almost 4 weeks out and not sure if it is a good idea?

As soon as your incisions are closed. My doctor released me and I started back in the Water at two weeks which I think was too soon and I had a small infection. I would think at four to six weeks you should be good.

I went to the doc for me 3 week check up and he told me I had to wait 1 more week to swim. As long as all your incisions are healed with no scabs or openings, you should be ok

I still have a few scabs ...so I think I'll wait...until next week. Thanks for the info!

My doc just gave me clearance to swim and I'm at six weeks. Check with your doc and see what he/she says.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
