I wasn't allowed Peanut Butter until 10 weeks. The doctor said no PB until your sleeve is healed, but I don't know why. Now I eat Natural JIF Low Sodium. Have some on brown rices cakes everyday. 2 TBLSP. is a seving, but I just put a very thin layer on each rice cake and it satisfies me. Actually this is the only thing I crave and before surgery I never ate it much. It's funny how your tatse buds change after surgery.

I was eating natural Peanut Butter at about 2 weeks out. Its an easy way to get in some calories for energy and also Protein.< /p>

Me too, added creamy PB at 2 weeks to my vanilla Protein Shake. No problem whatsoever digesting it and its high Protein too.

I enjoy Peanut Butter occasionally and I have since about six weeks out. I didn't eat it previously because almost every biteI ate early out was Protein. I don't really consider Peanut Butter a Protein because of the fat/calorie/protein ratio. I count it as a heathy treat or fat.

Are you allowed to eat normal Peanut Butter? I used to eat it all the time before the surgery but my nut said to only have the reduced fat/light version and I really feel its too thick or cakey? Given the portion size does it really matter if I buy the normal one?

I would eat the regular or all natural PB, if you look at the label of the reduced fat one, there's a bunch of junk in there that can't be good for you, and there's really not that fewer calories.....that's what Dr. Oz says anyway!

I eat the natural JIF simply because is is much lower sodium.

My doctor doesn't want me eating it at all due to the fat/sugar/calorie/sodium content. Says it's not the best source of Protein. But I still like it as a treat (like a single spoonful) every 3-4 days. Since I'm not eating any Desserts, candy, ice cream, etc. anymore, I think it's acceptable. I tried it at about a month out and went down fine. Definitely go "au natural" if you can from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's to avoid the palm or hydrogenated oil and added sugar. It tastes different and you have to stir the natural peanut oil which is gross to some, but it's so much better for you! Or try almond or cashew butter! YUM!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
