mrsflyboybs 62 Posted April 27, 2012 Hello all! I am two weeks post op and I have no appetite whatsoever. I'm sure I'm not getting enough fluids. I drink a little at a time and then the "burps" start. They're very uncomfortable! I keep trying, but on top of the burps I also have this fear that I'm going to stretch out my pouch. I'm feeling down about the whole thing. Any words of wisdom ?
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted April 27, 2012 Well, I hate to tell you this, but you do not have a pouch! You still have approximately 25% of your stomach left. It may stretch some in time, but not all that much. You just have to follow the rules of the sleeve and you will be fine. Under eat your sleeve, don't drink 30 minutes before your meal, or 30 minutes after your meal. Eat/drink your Protein first, veggies, some starches and drink a lot of fluids to stay hydrated. This is an amazing journey we are on so sit back, follow the rules, and enjoy the ride. CONGRATS! _
Shemy-away 83 Posted April 27, 2012 Hello! My words of encouragement are: It really does get better Hang in there and folllow your surgeons rules as close as possible. Don't too down on yourself if you can't get all of your fluids or Protein in. I'm about 2 months out and some days I miss my goals. This is a lifetime change and you won't get the routine down your first few weeks out. I hope that helped and I hope it gets better. We are here when you need us. mrsflyboybs 62 Posted April 27, 2012 Thanks ladies! I have no idea why I called it a pouch. I guess it's the pain meds talking. I'm glad there's other people out there in my boat. I had my surgery through the air force and like many thing in the military, there's not a lot of wiggle room (in regards to Protein intake) and not much in the way of support. 1 Twyla reacted to this

I feel like I'm completely alone and coordinating my own care with the military. Sent from my iPhone using VST 1 Twyla reacted to this
