summervi_jx 0 Posted April 27, 2012 Hi all, kindof my first post here, but my wife will be sleeved on 05/15/12, and I want to be of as much help to her as possible. Being a chef, this surgery will definitely challenge my thought process when it comes to meals. I was wondering if freshly processed vegetable juices would be something that would be allowable in addition to any Protein powders that were purchased for post op consumption? slimthickens 28 Posted April 27, 2012 You sound like a wonderfully supportive husband and your wife will be lucky to have you on her team. Adding freshly squeezed juices from a juicer should be no problem as long as you stay away from acidic fruits and veggies like tomatoes, lemons, oranges etc. These can be irritating to our new stomachs for a while. Also I would suggest using a mechanical juicer like the Jack Lalane one because they remove most if not all of the pulp from the liquid whereas the hand juicers leave a good amount of pulp which she will want to avoid until she is past the liquid stages of the post-op diet. Best wishes to both you and your wife.
